The Romanesque-style Ewart building dates back to 1891 when it was originally the headquarters of wholesale grocers Samuel Ewart and Company. The Ewart building was one of Pennsylvania’s first modern office buildings. Today, it still serves its original purpose as an office building and retail space and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979.
